Milton McAllister obtained a veterinary degree from The University of Missouri in 1984 and worked in rural practice for 3 years.  He then specialised in Pathology at Colorado State University and also obtained a PhD in disease research.  He worked for the University of California, University of Wyoming, and University of Illinois before joining the University of Adelaide’s new School of Animal and Veterinary Sciences in 2009.  His lab investigates ways to prevent infection with Toxoplasma gondii and related organisms.
